Shurooq signifies the sunrise time when the upper edge of the sun just begins to peek over the horizon. It also marks the conclusion of the time for Fajr (morning) prayer.

Qiyam

The term Qiyam-ul-layl, literally translates to 'standing during the night.' This voluntary prayer is typically offered between the time of the Ishaa prayer and the Fajr prayer (before dawn). However, the most ideal time for this prayer is in the final third of the night, just before sunrise.

Conversely, according to the Hanafi method, the onset of the Asr prayer time is signaled when an object's shadow is twice the size of its height.
