Surah Ash-Shams — The Sun

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1. 91:1
   ﱌﱍﱎ وَٱلشَّمْسِ وَضُحَىٰهَا

   By the sun and its brightness

2. 91:2
   ﱏﱐﱑﱒ وَٱلْقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَىٰهَا

   And [by] the moon when it follows it

3. 91:3
   ﱓﱔﱕﱖ وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا جَلَّىٰهَا

   And [by] the day when it displays it

4. 91:4
   ﱗﱘﱙﱚ وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰهَا

   And [by] the night when it covers it

5. 91:5
   ﱛﱜﱝﱞ وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا بَنَىٰهَا

   And [by] the sky and He who constructed it

6. 91:6
   ﱟﱠﱡﱢ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا طَحَىٰهَا

   And [by] the earth and He who spread it

7. 91:7
   ﱣﱤﱥﱦ وَنَفْسٍ وَمَا سَوَّىٰهَا

   And [by] the soul and He who proportioned it

8. 91:8
   ﱧﱨﱩﱪ فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَىٰهَا

   And inspired it [with discernment of] its wickedness and its righteousness,

9. 91:9
   ﱫﱬﱭﱮﱯ قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن زَكَّىٰهَا

   He has succeeded who purifies it,

10. 91:10
    ﱰﱱﱲﱳﱴ وَقَدْ خَابَ مَن دَسَّىٰهَا

    And he has failed who instills it [with corruption].

11. 91:11
    ﱵﱶﱷﱸ كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِطَغْوَىٰهَآ

    Thamud denied [their prophet] by reason of their transgression,

12. 91:12
    ﱹﱺﱻﱼ إِذِ ٱنۢبَعَثَ أَشْقَىٰهَا

    When the most wretched of them was sent forth.

13. 91:13
    ﱽﱾﱿﲀﲁﲂﲃﲄ فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ نَاقَةَ ٱللَّهِ وَسُقْيَـٰهَا

    And the messenger of Allah [Salih] said to them, "[Do not harm] the she-camel of Allah or [prevent her from] her drink."

14. 91:14
    ﲅﲆﲇﲈﲉﲊﲋﲌ فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَعَقَرُوهَا فَدَمْدَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُم بِذَنۢبِهِمْ فَسَوَّىٰهَا

    But they denied him and hamstrung her. So their Lord brought down upon them destruction for their sin and made it equal [upon all of them].

15. 91:15
    ﲍﲎﲏﲐ وَلَا يَخَافُ عُقْبَـٰهَا

    And He does not fear the consequence thereof.
