الرومبِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

ۘ Signs of waqf (pauses)
Waqf (وقف, “stop”) signs tell the reciter where to pause for breath while intending to continue. They appear slightly smaller and raised above the line. Follow them to avoid changing the meaning. Where two signs appear one above the other, give preference to the one on top.
- ◯
- waqf tām — وقف تامّ — “Perfect stop” — the end of a verse. The meaning is complete; stop and take a breath before continuing. Shown by the verse circle.
- مـ
- waqf lāzim — وقف لازم — “Required stop” — it is absolutely necessary to stop; not stopping can change the meaning (like “Stand! not Sit!” vs “Stand not! Sit!”).
- ط
- waqf muṭlaq — وقف مطلق — “Absolute stop” — break the breath and voice before continuing. The sentence is not yet complete but more follows before the meaning finishes.
- ج
- waqf jāʾiz — وقف جائز — “Permissible stop” — better to stop here, but if you do not, that is fine.
- ز
- waqf mujawwaz — وقف مجوّز — It is better not to stop here.
- ص
- waqf murakhkhaṣ — وقف مرخّص — “Licensed pause” — continue reading; but if you are tired you may pause for a breath. More desirable to continue than at ز.
- صلے
- al-waṣl awlā — الوصل أولى — “Continuing is preferable” — it is better to carry on reciting here.
- ق
- qīla ʿalayhil-waqf — قيل عليه الوقف — It has been said that it is better not to stop here — the sign marks a difference of opinion on whether to stop.
- قﻲ
- qad yūṣal — قد يوصل — It is better to stop here, but continuing is permissible.
- قف
- qif — قِف — “Stop!” — used where the reciter might otherwise continue instead of stopping.
- س
- saktah — سكتة — “Silence” — stop reciting but do not break the breath before continuing. Obligatory in four places (Sūrah al-Kahf, Yāsīn, al-Qiyāmah and al-Muṭaffifīn).
- وقفة
- waqfah — وقفة — Pause here longer than at a saktah, again without breaking the breath.
- لا
- lā — لا — “No!” — do not stop here, as it would affect the meaning. If it falls at a verse-end it is still better not to stop, but if you do the meaning is alright.
- ك
- kadhālik — كذلك — “Like that” — apply the previous waqf sign at this position as well.
- ∴ ∴
- muʿānaqah — معانقة — “Embracing stop” — triple dots appearing in pairs: stopping at the first forbids stopping at the second (and vice versa), or the meaning becomes incomplete. Stop at one or the other, not both.
- ∴
- — — Marks a point where there is a difference of opinion as to whether it is the end of an āyah.
- waqf an-nabī ﷺ — وقف النبي ﷺ — Indicates places where the Prophet ﷺ paused.
- waqf ghufrān — وقف غفران — It is said that if the reciter and listener make duʿāʾ when pausing here, it will be answered.
- waqf manzil — وقف منزل — Also waqf jibrāʾīl — where Jibrīl (peace be upon him) paused at the time of revelation.
Punctuation marks in the Arabic text
Qurʾanic punctuation in the Arabic script uses several symbols indicating variations in methods of qirāʾah (recitation). These symbols, known as the ʿAlāmāt al-Waqf (signs for stops), are briefly described below.

- Shows the end of a verse — a pause is a must.
- مـ
- Waqf Lāzim — The stop at which the word and meaning give a complete sense (a “complete stop”): the utterance is complete and separated from what follows.
- ط
- Waqf Jāʾiz, al-Waqf Awlā — May or may not stop, but the first preference is to stop. (The “sufficient stop”: stopping or continuing is permissible, yet stopping is preferable, since the phrase can stand by itself.)
- ج
- Waqf Jāʾiz — May or may not stop at the place indicated (no preference either way).
- ز
- It is better not to stop here.
- ﺱ
- Breaking the voice at a Qurʾanic word for a brief moment without taking a breath — at two counts (nearly two seconds).
- صلے
- Waqf Jāʾiz, al-Waṣl Awlā — May or may not stop at the place indicated, but the first preference is not to stop.

- Better to stop.

- It is better to take a pause.

- Stop the vocal sound for a moment without breaking the breath.

-
غُلِبَتِ الرُّوۡمُۙ ۲
The Byzantines have been defeated
タフスィール
-
فِىۡۤ اَدۡنَى الۡاَرۡضِ وَهُمۡ مِّنۡۢ بَعۡدِ غَلَبِهِمۡ سَيَغۡلِبُوۡنَۙ ۳
In the nearest land. But they, after their defeat, will overcome.
タフスィール
-
فِىۡ بِضۡعِ سِنِيۡنَؕ لِلّٰهِ الۡاَمۡرُ مِنۡ قَبۡلُ وَمِنۡۢ بَعۡدُ ؕ وَيَوۡمَٮِٕذٍ يَّفۡرَحُ الۡمُؤۡمِنُوۡنَۙ ۴
Within three to nine years. To Allah belongs the command before and after. And that day the believers will rejoice
タフスィール
-
بِنَصۡرِ اللّٰهِؕ يَنۡصُرُ مَنۡ يَّشَآءُ ؕ وَهُوَ الۡعَزِيۡزُ الرَّحِيۡمُۙ ۵
In the victory of Allah. He gives victory to whom He wills, and He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
タフスィール
-
وَعۡدَ اللّٰهِؕ لَا يُخۡلِفُ اللّٰهُ وَعۡدَهٗ وَلٰـكِنَّ اَكۡثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعۡلَمُوۡنَ ۶
[It is] the promise of Allah. Allah does not fail in His promise, but most of the people do not know.
タフスィール
-
يَعۡلَمُوۡنَ ظَاهِرًا مِّنَ الۡحَيٰوةِ الدُّنۡيَاۖۚ وَهُمۡ عَنِ الۡاٰخِرَةِ هُمۡ غٰفِلُوۡنَ ۷
They know what is apparent of the worldly life, but they, of the Hereafter, are unaware.
タフスィール
-
اَوَلَمۡ يَتَفَكَّرُوۡا فِىۡۤ اَنۡفُسِهِمۡ مَا خَلَقَ اللّٰهُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضَ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَاۤ اِلَّا بِالۡحَقِّ وَاَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّىؕ وَ اِنَّ كَثِيۡرًا مِّنَ النَّاسِ بِلِقَآئِ رَبِّهِمۡ لَـكٰفِرُوۡنَ ۸
Do they not contemplate within themselves? Allah has not created the heavens and the earth and what is between them except in truth and for a specified term. And indeed, many of the people, in [the matter of] the meeting with their Lord, are disbelievers.

35:43 ٱسْتِكْبَارًا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَكْرَ ٱلسَّيِّئِ وَلَا يَحِيقُ ٱلْمَكْرُ ٱلسَّيِّئُ إِلَّا بِأَهْلِهِۦ فَهَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا سُنَّتَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ فَلَن تَجِدَ لِسُنَّتِ ٱللَّهِ تَبْدِيلًا وَلَن تَجِدَ لِسُنَّتِ ٱللَّهِ تَحْوِيلًا 40:20 وَٱللَّهُ يَقْضِى بِٱلْحَقِّ وَٱلَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِۦ لَا يَقْضُونَ بِشَىْءٍ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْبَصِيرُ 40:81 وَيُرِيكُمْ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ فَأَىَّ ءَايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ تُنكِرُونَ -
اَوَلَمۡ يَسِيۡرُوۡا فِى الۡاَرۡضِ فَيَنۡظُرُوۡا كَيۡفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِيۡنَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِهِمۡؕ كَانُوۡۤا اَشَدَّ مِنۡهُمۡ قُوَّةً وَّاَثَارُوا الۡاَرۡضَ وَعَمَرُوۡهَاۤ اَكۡثَرَ مِمَّا عَمَرُوۡهَا وَجَآءَتۡهُمۡ رُسُلُهُمۡ بِالۡبَيِّنٰتِ ؕ فَمَا كَانَ اللّٰهُ لِيَظۡلِمَهُمۡ وَلٰـكِنۡ كَانُوۡۤا اَنۡفُسَهُمۡ يَظۡلِمُوۡنَ ؕ ۹
Have they not traveled through the earth and observed how was the end of those before them? They were greater than them in power, and they plowed the earth and built it up more than they have built it up, and their messengers came to them with clear evidences. And Allah would not ever have wronged them, but they were wronging themselves.
タフスィール
-
ثُمَّ كَانَ عَاقِبَةَ الَّذِيۡنَ اَسَآءُوا السُّوۡٓآٰى اَنۡ كَذَّبُوۡا بِاٰيٰتِ اللّٰهِ وَكَانُوۡا بِهَا يَسۡتَهۡزِءُوۡنَ ۱۰
Then the end of those who did evil was the worst [consequence] because they denied the signs of Allah and used to ridicule them.
タフスィール
-
اَللّٰهُ يَـبۡدَؤُا الۡخَلۡقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيۡدُهٗ ثُمَّ اِلَيۡهِ تُرۡجَعُوۡنَ ۱۱
Allah begins creation; then He will repeat it; then to Him you will be returned.

30:13 وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُم مِّن شُرَكَآئِهِمْ شُفَعَـٰٓؤُا وَكَانُوا بِشُرَكَآئِهِمْ كَـٰفِرِينَ 30:54 ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُم مِّن ضَعْفٍ ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِن بَعْدِ ضَعْفٍ قُوَّةً ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِن بَعْدِ قُوَّةٍ ضَعْفًا وَشَيْبَةً يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَآءُ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَلِيمُ ٱلْقَدِيرُ 45:26 قُلِ ٱللَّهُ يُحْيِيكُمْ ثُمَّ يُمِيتُكُمْ ثُمَّ يَجْمَعُكُمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ -
وَيَوۡمَ تَقُوۡمُ السَّاعَةُ يُبۡلِسُ الۡمُجۡرِمُوۡنَ ۱۲
And the Day the Hour appears the criminals will be in despair.
タフスィール
-
وَلَمۡ يَكُنۡ لَّهُمۡ مِّنۡ شُرَكَآٮِٕهِمۡ شُفَعٰٓؤُا وَكَانُوۡا بِشُرَكَآٮِٕهِمۡ كٰفِرِيۡنَ ۱۳
And there will not be for them among their [alleged] partners any intercessors, and they will [then] be disbelievers in their partners.
タフスィール
-
وَيَوۡمَ تَقُوۡمُ السَّاعَةُ يَوۡمَٮِٕذٍ يَّتَفَرَّقُوۡنَ ۱۴
And the Day the Hour appears - that Day they will become separated.
タフスィール
-
فَاَمَّا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ فَهُمۡ فِىۡ رَوۡضَةٍ يُّحۡبَرُوۡنَ ۱۵
And as for those who had believed and done righteous deeds, they will be in a garden [of Paradise], delighted.
タフスィール
-
وَاَمَّا الَّذِيۡنَ كَفَرُوۡا وَكَذَّبُوۡا بِاٰيٰتِنَا وَلِقَآئِ الۡاٰخِرَةِ فَاُولٰٓٮِٕكَ فِى الۡعَذَابِ مُحۡضَرُوۡنَ ۱۶
But as for those who disbelieved and denied Our verses and the meeting of the Hereafter, those will be brought into the punishment [to remain].
タフスィール
-
فَسُبۡحٰنَ اللّٰهِ حِيۡنَ تُمۡسُوۡنَ وَحِيۡنَ تُصۡبِحُوۡنَ ۱۷
So exalted is Allah when you reach the evening and when you reach the morning.
タフスィール
-
وَلَـهُ الۡحَمۡدُ فِىۡ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضِ وَعَشِيًّا وَّحِيۡنَ تُظۡهِرُوۡنَ ۱۸
And to Him is [due all] praise throughout the heavens and the earth. And [exalted is He] at night and when you are at noon.
タフスィール

3:26 قُلِ ٱللَّهُمَّ مَـٰلِكَ ٱلْمُلْكِ تُؤْتِى ٱلْمُلْكَ مَن تَشَآءُ وَتَنزِعُ ٱلْمُلْكَ مِمَّن تَشَآءُ وَتُعِزُّ مَن تَشَآءُ وَتُذِلُّ مَن تَشَآءُ بِيَدِكَ ٱلْخَيْرُ إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ 6:94 وَلَقَدْ جِئْتُمُونَا فُرَٰدَىٰ كَمَا خَلَقْنَـٰكُمْ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ وَتَرَكْتُم مَّا خَوَّلْنَـٰكُمْ وَرَآءَ ظُهُورِكُمْ وَمَا نَرَىٰ مَعَكُمْ شُفَعَآءَكُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ زَعَمْتُمْ أَنَّهُمْ فِيكُمْ شُرَكَـٰٓؤُا لَقَد تَّقَطَّعَ بَيْنَكُمْ وَضَلَّ عَنكُم مَّا كُنتُمْ تَزْعُمُونَ 10:30 هُنَالِكَ تَبْلُوا كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّآ أَسْلَفَتْ وَرُدُّوٓا إِلَى ٱللَّهِ مَوْلَىٰهُمُ ٱلْحَقِّ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا يَفْتَرُونَ -
يُخۡرِجُ الۡحَـىَّ مِنَ الۡمَيِّتِ وَيُخۡرِجُ الۡمَيِّتَ مِنَ الۡحَـىِّ وَيُحۡىِ الۡاَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ مَوۡتِهَا ؕ وَكَذٰلِكَ تُخۡرَجُوۡنَ ۱۹
He brings the living out of the dead and brings the dead out of the living and brings to life the earth after its lifelessness. And thus will you be brought out.
タフスィール
-
وَمِنۡ اٰيٰتِهٖۤ اَنۡ خَلَقَكُمۡ مِّنۡ تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ اِذَاۤ اَنۡتُمۡ بَشَرٌ تَنۡتَشِرُوۡنَ ۲۰
And of His signs is that He created you from dust; then, suddenly you were human beings dispersing [throughout the earth].
タフスィール
-
وَمِنۡ اٰيٰتِهٖۤ اَنۡ خَلَقَ لَكُمۡ مِّنۡ اَنۡفُسِكُمۡ اَزۡوَاجًا لِّتَسۡكُنُوۡۤا اِلَيۡهَا وَجَعَلَ بَيۡنَكُمۡ مَّوَدَّةً وَّرَحۡمَةً ؕ اِنَّ فِىۡ ذٰ لِكَ لَاٰيٰتٍ لِّقَوۡمٍ يَّتَفَكَّرُوۡنَ ۲۱
And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquillity in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.
タフスィール
-
وَمِنۡ اٰيٰتِهٖ خَلۡقُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضِ وَاخۡتِلَافُ اَلۡسِنَتِكُمۡ وَاَلۡوَانِكُمۡؕ اِنَّ فِىۡ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيٰتٍ لِّلۡعٰلِمِيۡنَ ۲۲
And of His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth and the diversity of your languages and your colors. Indeed in that are signs for those of knowledge.
タフスィール
-
وَمِنۡ اٰيٰتِهٖ مَنَامُكُمۡ بِالَّيۡلِ وَالنَّهَارِ وَابۡتِغَآؤُكُمۡ مِّنۡ فَضۡلِهٖؕ اِنَّ فِىۡ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيٰتٍ لِّقَوۡمٍ يَّسۡمَعُوۡنَ ۲۳
And of His signs is your sleep by night and day and your seeking of His bounty. Indeed in that are signs for a people who listen.
タフスィール
-
وَمِنۡ اٰيٰتِهٖ يُرِيۡكُمُ الۡبَرۡقَ خَوۡفًا وَّطَمَعًا وَّيُنَزِّلُ مِنَ السَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَيُحۡىٖ بِهِ الۡاَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ مَوۡتِهَا ؕ اِنَّ فِىۡ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيٰتٍ لِّقَوۡمٍ يَّعۡقِلُوۡنَ ۲۴
And of His signs is [that] He shows you the lightning [causing] fear and aspiration, and He sends down rain from the sky by which He brings to life the earth after its lifelessness. Indeed in that are signs for a people who use reason.
タフスィール
-
وَمِنۡ اٰيٰتِهٖۤ اَنۡ تَقُوۡمَ السَّمَآءُ وَالۡاَرۡضُ بِاَمۡرِهٖ ؕ ثُمَّ اِذَا دَعَاكُمۡ دَعۡوَةًۖ مِّنَ الۡاَرۡضِۖ اِذَاۤ اَنۡـتُمۡ تَخۡرُجُوۡنَ ۲۵
And of His signs is that the heaven and earth remain by His command. Then when He calls you with a [single] call from the earth, immediately you will come forth.
タフスィール
-
وَلَهٗ مَنۡ فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضِؕ كُلٌّ لَّهٗ قٰنِتُوۡنَ ۲۶
And to Him belongs whoever is in the heavens and earth. All are to Him devoutly obedient.
タフスィール
-
وَهُوَ الَّذِىۡ يَـبۡدَؤُا الۡخَـلۡقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيۡدُهٗ وَهُوَ اَهۡوَنُ عَلَيۡهِؕ وَلَهُ الۡمَثَلُ الۡاَعۡلٰى فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضِۚ وَهُوَ الۡعَزِيۡزُ الۡحَكِيۡمُ ۲۷
And it is He who begins creation; then He repeats it, and that is [even] easier for Him. To Him belongs the highest attribute in the heavens and earth. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
タフスィール
-
ضَرَبَ لَكُمۡ مَّثَلًا مِّنۡ اَنۡفُسِكُمۡؕ هَلْ لَّكُمۡ مِّنۡ مَّا مَلَـكَتۡ اَيۡمَانُكُمۡ مِّنۡ شُرَكَآءَ فِىۡ مَا رَزَقۡنٰكُمۡ فَاَنۡتُمۡ فِيۡهِ سَوَآءٌ تَخَافُوۡنَهُمۡ كَخِيۡفَتِكُمۡ اَنۡفُسَكُمۡؕ كَذٰلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ الۡاٰيٰتِ لِقَوۡمٍ يَّعۡقِلُوۡنَ ۲۸
He presents to you an example from yourselves. Do you have among those whom your right hands possess any partners in what We have provided for you so that you are equal therein [and] would fear them as your fear of one another [within a partnership]? Thus do We detail the verses for a people who use reason.
タフスィール
-
بَلِ اتَّبَعَ الَّذِيۡنَ ظَلَمُوۡۤا اَهۡوَآءَهُمۡ بِغَيۡرِ عِلۡمٍۚ فَمَنۡ يَّهۡدِىۡ مَنۡ اَضَلَّ اللّٰهُ ؕ وَمَا لَهُمۡ مِّنۡ نّٰصِرِيۡنَ ۲۹
But those who wrong follow their [own] desires without knowledge. Then who can guide one whom Allah has sent astray? And for them there are no helpers.
タフスィール
-
فَاَقِمۡ وَجۡهَكَ لِلدِّيۡنِ حَنِيۡفًا ؕ فِطۡرَتَ اللّٰهِ الَّتِىۡ فَطَرَ النَّاسَ عَلَيۡهَا ؕ لَا تَبۡدِيۡلَ لِخَـلۡقِ اللّٰهِ ؕ ذٰ لِكَ الدِّيۡنُ الۡقَيِّمُۙ وَلٰـكِنَّ اَكۡثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعۡلَمُوۡنَۙ ۳۰
So direct your face toward the religion, inclining to truth. [Adhere to] the fitrah of Allah upon which He has created [all] people. No change should there be in the creation of Allah. That is the correct religion, but most of the people do not know.
タフスィール
-
۞ مُنِيۡبِيۡنَ اِلَيۡهِ وَاتَّقُوۡهُ وَاَقِيۡمُوا الصَّلٰوةَ وَلَا تَكُوۡنُوۡا مِنَ الۡمُشۡرِكِيۡنَۙ ۳۱
[Adhere to it], turning in repentance to Him, and fear Him and establish prayer and do not be of those who associate others with Allah
タフスィール

6:158 هَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّآ أَن تَأْتِيَهُمُ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ أَوْ يَأْتِىَ رَبُّكَ أَوْ يَأْتِىَ بَعْضُ ءَايَـٰتِ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَ يَأْتِى بَعْضُ ءَايَـٰتِ رَبِّكَ لَا يَنفَعُ نَفْسًا إِيمَـٰنُهَا لَمْ تَكُنْ ءَامَنَتْ مِن قَبْلُ أَوْ كَسَبَتْ فِىٓ إِيمَـٰنِهَا خَيْرًا قُلِ ٱنتَظِرُوٓا إِنَّا مُنتَظِرُونَ 23:52 وَإِنَّ هَـٰذِهِۦٓ أُمَّتُكُمْ أُمَّةً وَٰحِدَةً وَأَنَا رَبُّكُمْ فَٱتَّقُونِ -
مِنَ الَّذِيۡنَ فَرَّقُوۡا دِيۡنَهُمۡ وَكَانُوۡا شِيَعًا ؕ كُلُّ حِزۡبٍۢ بِمَا لَدَيۡهِمۡ فَرِحُوۡنَ ۳۲
[Or] of those who have divided their religion and become sects, every faction rejoicing in what it has.

10:11 وَلَوْ يُعَجِّلُ ٱللَّهُ لِلنَّاسِ ٱلشَّرَّ ٱسْتِعْجَالَهُم بِٱلْخَيْرِ لَقُضِىَ إِلَيْهِمْ أَجَلُهُمْ فَنَذَرُ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَرْجُونَ لِقَآءَنَا فِى طُغْيَـٰنِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ 39:7 إِن تَكْفُرُوا فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَنِىٌّ عَنكُمْ وَلَا يَرْضَىٰ لِعِبَادِهِ ٱلْكُفْرَ وَإِن تَشْكُرُوا يَرْضَهُ لَكُمْ وَلَا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٌ وِزْرَ أُخْرَىٰ ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُم مَّرْجِعُكُمْ فَيُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيمٌ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ 39:48 وَبَدَا لَهُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتُ مَا كَسَبُوا وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ 16:53 وَمَا بِكُم مِّن نِّعْمَةٍ فَمِنَ ٱللَّهِ ثُمَّ إِذَا مَسَّكُمُ ٱلضُّرُّ فَإِلَيْهِ تَجْـَٔرُونَ -
وَاِذَا مَسَّ النَّاسَ ضُرٌّ دَعَوۡا رَبَّهُمۡ مُّنِيۡبِيۡنَ اِلَيۡهِ ثُمَّ اِذَاۤ اَذَاقَهُمۡ مِّنۡهُ رَحۡمَةً اِذَا فَرِيۡقٌ مِّنۡهُمۡ بِرَبِّهِمۡ يُشۡرِكُوۡنَۙ ۳۳
And when adversity touches the people, they call upon their Lord, turning in repentance to Him. Then when He lets them taste mercy from Him, at once a party of them associate others with their Lord,
タフスィール
-
لِيَكۡفُرُوۡا بِمَاۤ اٰتَيۡنٰهُمۡؕ فَتَمَتَّعُوۡا فَسَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُوۡنَ ۳۴
So that they will deny what We have granted them. Then enjoy yourselves, for you are going to know.
タフスィール
-
اَمۡ اَنۡزَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ سُلۡطٰنًا فَهُوَ يَتَكَلَّمُ بِمَا كَانُوۡا بِهٖ يُشۡرِكُوۡنَ ۳۵
Or have We sent down to them an authority, and it speaks of what they were associating with Him?

وَاِذَاۤ اَذَقۡنَا النَّاسَ رَحۡمَةً فَرِحُوۡا بِهَاؕ وَاِنۡ تُصِبۡهُمۡ سَيِّئَةٌ ۢ بِمَا قَدَّمَتۡ اَيۡدِيۡهِمۡ اِذَا هُمۡ يَقۡنَطُوۡنَ ۳۶
And when We let the people taste mercy, they rejoice therein, but if evil afflicts them for what their hands have put forth, immediately they despair.

13:25 وَٱلَّذِينَ يَنقُضُونَ عَهْدَ ٱللَّهِ مِن بَعْدِ مِيثَـٰقِهِۦ وَيَقْطَعُونَ مَآ أَمَرَ ٱللَّهُ بِهِۦٓ أَن يُوصَلَ وَيُفْسِدُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أُولَـٰٓئِكَ لَهُمُ ٱللَّعْنَةُ وَلَهُمْ سُوٓءُ ٱلدَّارِ 17:29 وَلَا تَجْعَلْ يَدَكَ مَغْلُولَةً إِلَىٰ عُنُقِكَ وَلَا تَبْسُطْهَا كُلَّ ٱلْبَسْطِ فَتَقْعُدَ مَلُومًا مَّحْسُورًا 28:81 فَخَسَفْنَا بِهِۦ وَبِدَارِهِ ٱلْأَرْضَ فَمَا كَانَ لَهُۥ مِن فِئَةٍ يَنصُرُونَهُۥ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنتَصِرِينَ 29:61 وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّنْ خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَسَخَّرَ ٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ لَيَقُولُنَّ ٱللَّهُ فَأَنَّىٰ يُؤْفَكُونَ 34:35 وَقَالُوا نَحْنُ أَكْثَرُ أَمْوَٰلًا وَأَوْلَـٰدًا وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ 34:38 وَٱلَّذِينَ يَسْعَوْنَ فِىٓ ءَايَـٰتِنَا مُعَـٰجِزِينَ أُولَـٰٓئِكَ فِى ٱلْعَذَابِ مُحْضَرُونَ 39:51 فَأَصَابَهُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتُ مَا كَسَبُوا وَٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا مِنْ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ سَيُصِيبُهُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتُ مَا كَسَبُوا وَمَا هُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ 42:11 فَاطِرُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَٰجًا وَمِنَ ٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ أَزْوَٰجًا يَذْرَؤُكُمْ فِيهِ لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِۦ شَىْءٌ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْبَصِيرُ -
اَوَلَمۡ يَرَوۡا اَنَّ اللّٰهَ يَبۡسُطُ الرِّزۡقَ لِمَنۡ يَّشَآءُ وَيَقۡدِرُؕ اِنَّ فِىۡ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيٰتٍ لِّقَوۡمٍ يُّؤۡمِنُوۡنَ ۳۷
Do they not see that Allah extends provision for whom He wills and restricts [it]? Indeed, in that are signs for a people who believe.
タフスィール
-
فَاٰتِ ذَا الۡقُرۡبٰى حَقَّهٗ وَ الۡمِسۡكِيۡنَ وَابۡنَ السَّبِيۡلِؕ ذٰلِكَ خَيۡرٌ لِّلَّذِيۡنَ يُرِيۡدُوۡنَ وَجۡهَ اللّٰهِ وَاُولٰٓٮِٕكَ هُمُ الۡمُفۡلِحُوۡنَ ۳۸
So give the relative his right, as well as the needy and the traveler. That is best for those who desire the countenance of Allah, and it is they who will be the successful.
タフスィール
-
وَمَاۤ اٰتَيۡتُمۡ مِّنۡ رِّبًا لِّيَرۡبُوَا۟ فِىۡۤ اَمۡوَالِ النَّاسِ فَلَا يَرۡبُوۡا عِنۡدَ اللّٰهِۚ وَمَاۤ اٰتَيۡتُمۡ مِّنۡ زَكٰوةٍ تُرِيۡدُوۡنَ وَجۡهَ اللّٰهِ فَاُولٰٓٮِٕكَ هُمُ الۡمُضۡعِفُوۡنَ ۳۹
And whatever you give for interest to increase within the wealth of people will not increase with Allah. But what you give in zakah, desiring the countenance of Allah - those are the multipliers.
タフスィール
-
اَللّٰهُ الَّذِىۡ خَلَقَكُمۡ ثُمَّ رَزَقَكُمۡ ثُمَّ يُمِيۡتُكُمۡ ثُمَّ يُحۡيِيۡكُمۡ ؕ هَلۡ مِنۡ شُرَكَآٮِٕكُمۡ مَّنۡ يَّفۡعَلُ مِنۡ ذٰ لِكُمۡ مِّنۡ شَىۡءٍؕ سُبۡحٰنَهٗ وَتَعٰلٰى عَمَّا يُشۡرِكُوۡنَ ۴۰
Allah is the one who created you, then provided for you, then will cause you to die, and then will give you life. Are there any of your "partners" who does anything of that? Exalted is He and high above what they associate with Him.
タフスィール
-
ظَهَرَ الۡفَسَادُ فِى الۡبَرِّ وَالۡبَحۡرِ بِمَا كَسَبَتۡ اَيۡدِى النَّاسِ لِيُذِيۡقَهُمۡ بَعۡضَ الَّذِىۡ عَمِلُوۡا لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَرۡجِعُوۡنَ ۴۱
Corruption has appeared throughout the land and sea by [reason of] what the hands of people have earned so He may let them taste part of [the consequence of] what they have done that perhaps they will return [to righteousness].

3:136 أُولَـٰٓئِكَ جَزَآؤُهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَجَنَّـٰتٌ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا وَنِعْمَ أَجْرُ ٱلْعَـٰمِلِينَ 6:10 وَلَقَدِ ٱسْتُهْزِئَ بِرُسُلٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ فَحَاقَ بِٱلَّذِينَ سَخِرُوا مِنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ 16:35 وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا لَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مَا عَبَدْنَا مِن دُونِهِۦ مِن شَىْءٍ نَّحْنُ وَلَآ ءَابَآؤُنَا وَلَا حَرَّمْنَا مِن دُونِهِۦ مِن شَىْءٍ كَذَٰلِكَ فَعَلَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَهَلْ عَلَى ٱلرُّسُلِ إِلَّا ٱلْبَلَـٰغُ ٱلْمُبِينُ 27:68 لَقَدْ وُعِدْنَا هَـٰذَا نَحْنُ وَءَابَآؤُنَا مِن قَبْلُ إِنْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّآ أَسَـٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ 29:19 أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا كَيْفَ يُبْدِئُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُۥٓ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ يَسِيرٌ -
قُلۡ سِيۡرُوۡا فِى الۡاَرۡضِ فَانْظُرُوۡا كَيۡفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِيۡنَ مِنۡ قَبۡلُؕ كَانَ اَكۡثَرُهُمۡ مُّشۡرِكِيۡنَ ۴۲
Say, [O Muhammad], "Travel through the land and observe how was the end of those before. Most of them were associators [of others with Allah].
タフスィール
-
فَاَقِمۡ وَجۡهَكَ لِلدِّيۡنِ الۡقَيِّمِ مِنۡ قَبۡلِ اَنۡ يَّاۡتِىَ يَوۡمٌ لَّا مَرَدَّ لَهٗ مِنَ اللّٰهِ يَوۡمَٮِٕذٍ يَّصَّدَّعُوۡنَ ۴۳
So direct your face toward the correct religion before a Day comes from Allah of which there is no repelling. That Day, they will be divided.
タフスィール
-
مَنۡ كَفَرَ فَعَلَيۡهِ كُفۡرُهٗۚ وَمَنۡ عَمِلَ صَالِحاً فَلِاَنۡفُسِهِمۡ يَمۡهَدُوۡنَۙ ۴۴
Whoever disbelieves - upon him is [the consequence of] his disbelief. And whoever does righteousness - they are for themselves preparing,
タフスィール
-
لِيَجۡزِىَ الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوۡا الصّٰلِحٰتِ مِنۡ فَضۡلِهٖؕ اِنَّهٗ لَا يُحِبُّ الۡكٰفِرِيۡنَ ۴۵
That He may reward those who have believed and done righteous deeds out of His bounty. Indeed, He does not like the disbelievers.
タフスィール
-
وَمِنۡ اٰيٰتِهٖۤ اَنۡ يُّرۡسِلَ الرِّيَاحَ مُبَشِّرٰتٍ وَّلِيُذِيۡقَكُمۡ مِّنۡ رَّحۡمَتِهٖ وَلِتَجۡرِىَ الۡفُلۡكُ بِاَمۡرِهٖ وَلِتَبۡتَغُوۡا مِنۡ فَضۡلِهٖ وَلَعَلَّكُمۡ تَشۡكُرُوۡنَ ۴۶
And of His signs is that He sends the winds as bringers of good tidings and to let you taste His mercy and so the ships may sail at His command and so you may seek of His bounty, and perhaps you will be grateful.
タフスィール

13:37 وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ حُكْمًا عَرَبِيًّا وَلَئِنِ ٱتَّبَعْتَ أَهْوَآءَهُم بَعْدَ مَا جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ مَا لَكَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ مِن وَلِىٍّ وَلَا وَاقٍ 40:77 فَٱصْبِرْ إِنَّ وَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقٌّ فَإِمَّا نُرِيَنَّكَ بَعْضَ ٱلَّذِى نَعِدُهُمْ أَوْ نَتَوَفَّيَنَّكَ فَإِلَيْنَا يُرْجَعُونَ -
وَ لَقَدۡ اَرۡسَلۡنَا مِنۡ قَبۡلِكَ رُسُلًا اِلٰى قَوۡمِهِمۡ فَجَآءُوۡهُمۡ بِالۡبَيِّنٰتِ فَانْتَقَمۡنَا مِنَ الَّذِيۡنَ اَجۡرَمُوۡا ؕ وَكَانَ حَقًّا عَلَيۡنَا نَصۡرُ الۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ ۴۷
And We have already sent messengers before you to their peoples, and they came to them with clear evidences; then We took retribution from those who committed crimes, and incumbent upon Us was support of the believers.
タフスィール

13:12 هُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُرِيكُمُ ٱلْبَرْقَ خَوْفًا وَطَمَعًا وَيُنشِئُ ٱلسَّحَابَ ٱلثِّقَالَ 24:42 وَلِلَّهِ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمَصِيرُ 35:8 أَفَمَن زُيِّنَ لَهُۥ سُوٓءُ عَمَلِهِۦ فَرَءَاهُ حَسَنًا فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُضِلُّ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَهْدِى مَن يَشَآءُ فَلَا تَذْهَبْ نَفْسُكَ عَلَيْهِمْ حَسَرَٰتٍ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ بِمَا يَصْنَعُونَ -
اَللّٰهُ الَّذِىۡ يُرۡسِلُ الرِّيٰحَ فَتُثِيۡرُ سَحَابًا فَيَبۡسُطُهٗ فِى السَّمَآءِ كَيۡفَ يَشَآءُ وَيَجۡعَلُهٗ كِسَفًا فَتَرَى الۡوَدۡقَ يَخۡرُجُ مِنۡ خِلٰلِهٖۚ فَاِذَاۤ اَصَابَ بِهٖ مَنۡ يَّشَآءُ مِنۡ عِبَادِهٖۤ اِذَا هُمۡ يَسۡتَبۡشِرُوۡنَۚ ۴۸
It is Allah who sends the winds, and they stir the clouds and spread them in the sky however He wills, and He makes them fragments so you see the rain emerge from within them. And when He causes it to fall upon whom He wills of His servants, immediately they rejoice
タフスィール
-
وَاِنۡ كَانُوۡا مِنۡ قَبۡلِ اَنۡ يُّنَزَّلَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ مِّنۡ قَبۡلِهٖ لَمُبۡلِسِيۡنَ ۴۹
Although they were, before it was sent down upon them - before that, in despair.
タフスィール
-
فَانْظُرۡ اِلٰٓى اٰثٰرِ رَحۡمَتِ اللّٰهِ كَيۡفَ يُحۡىِ الۡاَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ مَوۡتِهَا ؕ اِنَّ ذٰ لِكَ لَمُحۡىِ الۡمَوۡتٰىۚ وَهُوَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَىۡءٍ قَدِيۡرٌ ۵۰
So observe the effects of the mercy of Allah - how He gives life to the earth after its lifelessness. Indeed, that [same one] will give life to the dead, and He is over all things competent.
タフスィール
-
وَلَٮِٕنۡ اَرۡسَلۡنَا رِيۡحًا فَرَاَوۡهُ مُصۡفَرًّا لَّظَلُّوۡا مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِهٖ يَكۡفُرُوۡنَ ۵۱
But if We should send a [bad] wind and they saw [their crops] turned yellow, they would remain thereafter disbelievers.
タフスィール
-
فَاِنَّكَ لَا تُسۡمِعُ الۡمَوۡتٰى وَلَا تُسۡمِعُ الصُّمَّ الدُّعَآءَ اِذَا وَلَّوۡا مُدۡبِرِيۡنَ ۵۲
So indeed, you will not make the dead hear, nor will you make the deaf hear the call when they turn their backs, retreating.
タフスィール
-
وَمَاۤ اَنۡتَ بِهٰدِ الۡعُمۡىِ عَنۡ ضَلٰلَتِهِمۡؕ اِنۡ تُسۡمِعُ اِلَّا مَنۡ يُّؤۡمِنُ بِاٰيٰتِنَا فَهُمۡ مُّسۡلِمُوۡنَ ۵۳
And you cannot guide the blind away from their error. You will only make hear those who believe in Our verses so they are Muslims [in submission to Allah].
タフスィール
-
۞ اَللّٰهُ الَّذِىۡ خَلَقَكُمۡ مِّنۡ ضُعۡفٍ ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِ ضُعۡفٍ قُوَّةً ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِ قُوَّةٍ ضُعۡفًا وَّشَيۡبَةً ؕ يَخۡلُقُ مَا يَشَآءُۚ وَهُوَ الۡعَلِيۡمُ الۡقَدِيۡرُ ۵۴
Allah is the one who created you from weakness, then made after weakness strength, then made after strength weakness and white hair. He creates what He wills, and He is the Knowing, the Competent.
タフスィール
-
وَيَوۡمَ تَقُوۡمُ السَّاعَةُ يُقۡسِمُ الۡمُجۡرِمُوۡنَۙ مَا لَبِثُوۡا غَيۡرَ سَاعَةٍ ؕ كَذٰلِكَ كَانُوۡا يُؤۡفَكُوۡنَ ۵۵
And the Day the Hour appears the criminals will swear they had remained but an hour. Thus they were deluded.
タフスィール
-
وَقَالَ الَّذِيۡنَ اُوۡتُوا الۡعِلۡمَ وَ الۡاِيۡمَانَ لَقَدۡ لَبِثۡـتُمۡ فِىۡ كِتٰبِ اللّٰهِ اِلٰى يَوۡمِ الۡبَـعۡثِ فَهٰذَا يَوۡمُ الۡبَـعۡثِ وَلٰـكِنَّكُمۡ كُنۡـتُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُوۡنَ ۵۶
But those who were given knowledge and faith will say, "You remained the extent of Allah 's decree until the Day of Resurrection, and this is the Day of Resurrection, but you did not used to know."
タフスィール
-
فَيَوۡمَٮِٕذٍ لَّا يَنۡفَعُ الَّذِيۡنَ ظَلَمُوۡا مَعۡذِرَتُهُمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يُسۡتَعۡتَبُوۡنَ ۵۷
So that Day, their excuse will not benefit those who wronged, nor will they be asked to appease [Allah].
タフスィール
-
وَلَقَدۡ ضَرَبۡنَا لِلنَّاسِ فِىۡ هٰذَا الۡقُرۡاٰنِ مِنۡ كُلِّ مَثَلٍؕ وَلَٮِٕنۡ جِئۡتَهُمۡ بِاٰيَةٍ لَّيَقُوۡلَنَّ الَّذِيۡنَ كَفَرُوۡۤا اِنۡ اَنۡتُمۡ اِلَّا مُبۡطِلُوۡنَ ۵۸
And We have certainly presented to the people in this Qur'an from every [kind of] example. But, [O Muhammad], if you should bring them a sign, the disbelievers will surely say, "You [believers] are but falsifiers."
タフスィール
-
كَذٰلِكَ يَطۡبَعُ اللّٰهُ عَلٰى قُلُوۡبِ الَّذِيۡنَ لَا يَعۡلَمُوۡنَ ۵۹
Thus does Allah seal the hearts of those who do not know.
タフスィール
-
فَاصۡبِرۡ اِنَّ وَعۡدَ اللّٰهِ حَقٌّ وَّلَا يَسۡتَخِفَّنَّكَ الَّذِيۡنَ لَا يُوۡقِنُوۡنَ ۶۰
So be patient. Indeed, the promise of Allah is truth. And let them not disquiet you who are not certain [in faith].
