Bermuda has a small Muslim community estimated at less than 1 percent of the population, numbering several hundred adherents in a territory of approximately 64,000. The community is composed of African-Caribbean converts (associated historically with the Nation of Islam and later Sunni reorientation since the 1970s) and a smaller number of South Asian and Middle Eastern professionals working in the financial services sector. The Masjid Muhammad of Bermuda in Hamilton serves as the principal congregational space and follows mainstream Sunni practice. There is no state Islamic authority on this British Overseas Territory, and community affairs are managed through the registered religious organization. eSalah uses the Muslim World League default for Bermuda, which aligns with North American convention given the territory's ties; ISNA parameters are offered as an alternate given proximity to the eastern United States. The community maintains links with Caribbean and North American mosque networks for religious education and Eid coordination, and there is no Islamic school operating on the islands.
