Zakat Calculator

Enter the value of your zakatable assets at the moment your zakat year completes. The calculator shows your total wealth, the nisab threshold, and the zakat owed if you're above nisab.

Informational, not a fatwa

This calculator follows the standard Sunni mainstream calculation (gold/silver nisab, 2.5% rate). Scholarly differences exist on edges — retirement accounts, business asset valuation, mortgage deduction, real-estate classification. For your specific situation, especially complex assets, consult a qualified scholar.

Cash & bank
USD

Cash on hand + checking + savings + fixed deposits + money you're owed and expect to receive.

Gold
g

Jewelry, bullion, coins. Hanafi includes ALL gold; some scholars exclude jewelry in everyday use.

Silver
g

Bullion, coins, jewelry — same scholarly variation as gold.

Investments
USD

Stocks, mutual funds, retirement accounts (401k/IRA). Hanafi often excludes locked retirement accounts; Maliki/Shafi'i/Hanbali include them. Use fair market value.

Business assets
USD

Resale inventory at cost, money owed by customers, business cash. Subtract business-specific debts.

Real estate (resale only)
USD

Property held with the intention to RESELL. Primary residence and rental-income properties are exempt by majority opinion.

Cryptocurrency
USD

Modern scholars largely treat cryptocurrency as cash. Use the value on your zakat-year-end date.

Liabilities
USD

Debts due within the year: credit card balances, current loan principal, due bills. Long-term debt (full mortgage outstanding) is generally NOT deductible.

Nisab basis

Both are valid; pick whichever your scholar follows. Default is silver.
