Prayer times in Central African Republic

Muslim World League · Capital: Bangui · 19 regions indexed

The Central African Republic has a Muslim community of approximately 9 to 15 percent of the population, with the figure significantly affected by displacement during the 2013–2014 sectarian crisis when an estimated 80 percent of the country's Muslims fled their homes, many to Chad and Cameroon, with partial return since 2017. The community is concentrated historically in the northeast (Vakaga, Bamingui-Bangoran, Haute-Kotto) and in trading neighborhoods of Bangui, with origins in trans-Saharan and Lake Chad trade networks and substantial Chadian, Sudanese, and Nigerian migration. The community is overwhelmingly Sunni of the Maliki school with a Tijaniyya Sufi presence. The Grande Mosquée du PK5 in Bangui has served as a focal point for the displaced and returning community. The Communauté Islamique de Centrafrique is the principal national body. The country is flagged for the recent persecution of the Muslim minority, which should be described factually without speculation on motive. eSalah uses the Muslim World League default for the CAR.
