Dominica has a very small Muslim community estimated at well under 0.5 percent of the population, numbering perhaps a few hundred adherents in an island nation of approximately 73,000. The community is composed of a small number of Caribbean-origin converts and a handful of resident professionals from South Asia, the Middle East, and other parts of the Caribbean. There is no purpose-built mosque in the country, and Friday prayers when held are typically conducted in private spaces or rented community halls. The community has historical and ongoing ties with the larger Trinidadian, Guyanese, and Antiguan Muslim networks, and most observant residents travel to Trinidad, Antigua, or Florida for major religious life-cycle events and Eid prayers. There is no state Islamic authority. eSalah uses the Muslim World League default for Dominica, consistent with broader Caribbean regional practice. The community is too small to support a formal Islamic school, halal-certified food supply, or dedicated religious education program, and most resources are obtained through cross-border community networks.
