Prayer times in Saint Lucia

Default method: mwl · Capital: Castries · 11 regions indexed

Saint Lucia has a small Muslim community estimated at less than 0.5 percent of the population, numbering perhaps 300 to 600 adherents in an island nation of approximately 184,000. The community is composed of Caribbean-origin converts (with historical ties to the Nation of Islam and later mainstream Sunni reorientation since the 1970s) and a small number of recent immigrants from Guyana, Trinidad, and South Asia. The community gathers at the Masjid An-Noor in Castries, the principal congregational mosque, and at smaller prayer spaces elsewhere on the island. The Saint Lucian Islamic community has notable links with the larger Trinidadian and Guyanese Muslim networks for religious education, halal certification, and Eid coordination. There is no state Islamic authority, and the community is too small to support a formal Islamic school. eSalah uses the Muslim World League default for Saint Lucia, consistent with broader Caribbean regional practice. Most observant residents travel to Trinidad or to the U.S. Caribbean diaspora communities in New York, Toronto, and Florida for major religious life-cycle events and advanced Islamic education.
