Prayer times in Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe has a small Muslim community estimated at approximately 0.9 to 2 percent of the population, numbering roughly 130,000 to 280,000 adherents. The community is composed primarily of three groups: South Asian (Gujarati and Pakistani) traders who settled during the colonial and post-colonial periods (with a notable Memon community in Bulawayo and Harare), a Yao community connected to the broader Yao Muslim networks of Malawi and Mozambique that have settled in Zimbabwe over generations of cross-border movement, and a growing native Zimbabwean convert population. The community is predominantly Sunni of the Hanafi and Shafi'i schools, with the Gujarati component including some Bohra and Khoja Ismaili presence. The Harare Central Mosque (Jamia Masjid Harare) and the Bulawayo Mosque serve as principal congregational centers. The Majlisul Ulama Zimbabwe and the Muslim Association of Zimbabwe are among the principal national umbrella bodies. There is no state Islamic authority. eSalah uses the Muslim World League default for Zimbabwe. The community maintains ongoing ties with the larger South African Muslim networks (especially the Jamiatul Ulama of South Africa) for religious resources.
