بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

More
Taɓa kowace kalma don jin yadda ake furta ta da ganin ma'anarta. Mai zaɓen mai karatu na don karatu mai ci gaba ne — kowace kalma tana haskakawa yayin kunnawa.

Madd wajibi (6) — Cikakken tsawaitawa na lokaci 6; ya haɗa da harufan buɗewar sūrah da suka rabu

⚠︎ Ana ƙirƙira waɗannan launuka na tajwidi kai tsaye don rubutun IndoPak, kuma suna iya bambanta da mus'hafin tajwidi da aka buga. Ka yi amfani da su a matsayin taimako wajen karatu, kuma ka tabbatar da karatunka tare da ƙwararren malami (muƙri'i). Dokokin suna bin karatun Hafsu daga Asim ne.

ۘ Signs of waqf (pauses)

Waqf (وقف, “stop”) signs tell the reciter where to pause for breath while intending to continue. They appear slightly smaller and raised above the line. Follow them to avoid changing the meaning. Where two signs appear one above the other, give preference to the one on top.

waqf tām — وقف تامّ — “Perfect stop” — the end of a verse. The meaning is complete; stop and take a breath before continuing. Shown by the verse circle.
مـ
waqf lāzim — وقف لازم — “Required stop” — it is absolutely necessary to stop; not stopping can change the meaning (like “Stand! not Sit!” vs “Stand not! Sit!”).
ط
waqf muṭlaq — وقف مطلق — “Absolute stop” — break the breath and voice before continuing. The sentence is not yet complete but more follows before the meaning finishes.
ج
waqf jāʾiz — وقف جائز — “Permissible stop” — better to stop here, but if you do not, that is fine.
ز
waqf mujawwaz — وقف مجوّز — It is better not to stop here.
ص
waqf murakhkhaṣ — وقف مرخّص — “Licensed pause” — continue reading; but if you are tired you may pause for a breath. More desirable to continue than at ز.
صلے
al-waṣl awlā — الوصل أولى — “Continuing is preferable” — it is better to carry on reciting here.
ق
qīla ʿalayhil-waqf — قيل عليه الوقف — It has been said that it is better not to stop here — the sign marks a difference of opinion on whether to stop.
قﻲ
qad yūṣal — قد يوصل — It is better to stop here, but continuing is permissible.
قف
qif — قِف — “Stop!” — used where the reciter might otherwise continue instead of stopping.
س
saktah — سكتة — “Silence” — stop reciting but do not break the breath before continuing. Obligatory in four places (Sūrah al-Kahf, Yāsīn, al-Qiyāmah and al-Muṭaffifīn).
وقفة
waqfah — وقفة — Pause here longer than at a saktah, again without breaking the breath.
لا
— لا — “No!” — do not stop here, as it would affect the meaning. If it falls at a verse-end it is still better not to stop, but if you do the meaning is alright.
ك
kadhālik — كذلك — “Like that” — apply the previous waqf sign at this position as well.

muʿānaqah — معانقة — “Embracing stop” — triple dots appearing in pairs: stopping at the first forbids stopping at the second (and vice versa), or the meaning becomes incomplete. Stop at one or the other, not both.
— Marks a point where there is a difference of opinion as to whether it is the end of an āyah.
waqf an-nabī ﷺ — وقف النبي ﷺ — Indicates places where the Prophet ﷺ paused.
waqf ghufrān — وقف غفران — It is said that if the reciter and listener make duʿāʾ when pausing here, it will be answered.
waqf manzil — وقف منزل — Also waqf jibrāʾīl — where Jibrīl (peace be upon him) paused at the time of revelation.
۝ Punctuation marks in the Arabic text

Qurʾanic punctuation in the Arabic script uses several symbols indicating variations in methods of qirāʾah (recitation). These symbols, known as the ʿAlāmāt al-Waqf (signs for stops), are briefly described below.

Shows the end of a verse — a pause is a must.
مـ
Waqf Lāzim — The stop at which the word and meaning give a complete sense (a “complete stop”): the utterance is complete and separated from what follows.
ط
Waqf Jāʾiz, al-Waqf Awlā — May or may not stop, but the first preference is to stop. (The “sufficient stop”: stopping or continuing is permissible, yet stopping is preferable, since the phrase can stand by itself.)
ج
Waqf Jāʾiz — May or may not stop at the place indicated (no preference either way).
ز
It is better not to stop here.
Breaking the voice at a Qurʾanic word for a brief moment without taking a breath — at two counts (nearly two seconds).
صلے
Waqf Jāʾiz, al-Waṣl Awlā — May or may not stop at the place indicated, but the first preference is not to stop.
ق

صل
Better to stop.
قف
It is better to take a pause.
س
Stop the vocal sound for a moment without breaking the breath.

    قٓۚ وَالۡقُرۡاٰنِ الۡمَجِيۡدِۚ ۱

    بَلۡ عَجِبُوۡۤا اَنۡ جَآءَهُمۡ مُّنۡذِرٌ مِّنۡهُمۡ فَقَالَ الۡكٰفِرُوۡنَ هٰذَا شَىۡءٌ عَجِيۡبٌۚ ۲

    But they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves, and the disbelievers say, "This is an amazing thing.

    ءَاِذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًاۚ ذٰ لِكَ رَجۡعٌ ۢ بَعِيۡدٌ ۳

    When we have died and have become dust, [we will return to life]? That is a distant return."

    قَدۡ عَلِمۡنَا مَا تَنۡقُصُ الۡاَرۡضُ مِنۡهُمۡۚ وَعِنۡدَنَا كِتٰبٌ حَفِيۡظٌ ۴

    We know what the earth diminishes of them, and with Us is a retaining record.

    بَلۡ كَذَّبُوۡا بِالۡحَقِّ لَمَّا جَآءَهُمۡ فَهُمۡ فِىۡۤ اَمۡرٍ مَّرِيۡجٍ ۵

    But they denied the truth when it came to them, so they are in a confused condition.

    اَ فَلَمۡ يَنۡظُرُوۡۤا اِلَى السَّمَآءِ فَوۡقَهُمۡ كَيۡفَ بَنَيۡنٰهَا وَزَ يَّـنّٰهَا وَمَا لَهَا مِنۡ فُرُوۡجٍ ۶

    Have they not looked at the heaven above them - how We structured it and adorned it and [how] it has no rifts?

  7. 50:7

    وَالۡاَرۡضَ مَدَدۡنٰهَا وَاَ لۡقَيۡنَا فِيۡهَا رَوَاسِىَ وَاَنۡۢبَتۡنَا فِيۡهَا مِنۡ كُلِّ زَوۡجٍۢ بَهِيۡجٍۙ ۷

    And the earth - We spread it out and cast therein firmly set mountains and made grow therein [something] of every beautiful kind,

    تَبۡصِرَةً وَّذِكۡرٰى لِكُلِّ عَبۡدٍ مُّنِيۡبٍ ۸

    Giving insight and a reminder for every servant who turns [to Allah].

    وَنَزَّلۡنَا مِنَ السَّمَآءِ مَآءً مُّبٰـرَكًا فَاَنۡۢبَـتۡـنَا بِهٖ جَنّٰتٍ وَّحَبَّ الۡحَصِيۡدِۙ ۹

    And We have sent down blessed rain from the sky and made grow thereby gardens and grain from the harvest

    وَالنَّخۡلَ بٰسِقٰتٍ لَّهَا طَلۡـعٌ نَّضِيۡدٌۙ ۱۰

    And lofty palm trees having fruit arranged in layers -

    رِّزۡقًا لِّلۡعِبَادِۙ وَاَحۡيَيۡنَا بِهٖ بَلۡدَةً مَّيۡـتًا ؕ كَذٰلِكَ الۡخُـرُوۡجُ ۱۱

    As provision for the servants, and We have given life thereby to a dead land. Thus is the resurrection.

    كَذَّبَتۡ قَبۡلَهُمۡ قَوۡمُ نُوۡحٍ وَّاَصۡحٰبُ الرَّسِّ وَثَمُوۡدُۙ ۱۲

    The people of Noah denied before them, and the companions of the well and Thamud

    وَعَادٌ وَّفِرۡعَوۡنُ وَاِخۡوَانُ لُوۡطٍۙ ۱۳

    And 'Aad and Pharaoh and the brothers of Lot

    وَّاَصۡحٰبُ الۡاَيۡكَةِ وَقَوۡمُ تُبَّعٍؕ كُلٌّ كَذَّبَ الرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ وَعِيۡدِ ۱۴

    And the companions of the thicket and the people of Tubba'. All denied the messengers, so My threat was justly fulfilled.

    اَفَعَيِيۡنَا بِالۡخَـلۡقِ الۡاَوَّلِؕ بَلۡ هُمۡ فِىۡ لَبۡسٍ مِّنۡ خَلۡقٍ جَدِيۡدٍ ۱۵

    Did We fail in the first creation? But they are in confusion over a new creation.

    وَلَقَدۡ خَلَقۡنَا الۡاِنۡسَانَ وَنَعۡلَمُ مَا تُوَسۡوِسُ بِهٖ نَفۡسُهٗۖۚ وَنَحۡنُ اَقۡرَبُ اِلَيۡهِ مِنۡ حَبۡلِ الۡوَرِيۡدِ ۱۶

    And We have already created man and know what his soul whispers to him, and We are closer to him than [his] jugular vein

  17. 50:17

    اِذۡ يَتَلَقَّى الۡمُتَلَقِّيٰنِ عَنِ الۡيَمِيۡنِ وَعَنِ الشِّمَالِ قَعِيۡدٌ ۱۷

    When the two receivers receive, seated on the right and on the left.

    مَا يَلۡفِظُ مِنۡ قَوۡلٍ اِلَّا لَدَيۡهِ رَقِيۡبٌ عَتِيۡدٌ ۱۸

    Man does not utter any word except that with him is an observer prepared [to record].

    وَ جَآءَتۡ سَكۡرَةُ الۡمَوۡتِ بِالۡحَـقِّؕ ذٰلِكَ مَا كُنۡتَ مِنۡهُ تَحِيۡدُ ۱۹

    And the intoxication of death will bring the truth; that is what you were trying to avoid.

    وَنُفِخَ فِى الصُّوۡرِ ؕ ذٰ لِكَ يَوۡمُ الۡوَعِيۡدِ ۲۰

    And the Horn will be blown. That is the Day of [carrying out] the threat.

    وَجَآءَتۡ كُلُّ نَفۡسٍ مَّعَهَا سَآٮِٕقٌ وَّشَهِيۡدٌ ۲۱

    And every soul will come, with it a driver and a witness.

    لَقَدۡ كُنۡتَ فِىۡ غَفۡلَةٍ مِّنۡ هٰذَا فَكَشَفۡنَا عَنۡكَ غِطَآءَكَ فَبَصَرُكَ الۡيَوۡمَ حَدِيۡدٌ ۲۲

    [It will be said], "You were certainly in unmindfulness of this, and We have removed from you your cover, so your sight, this Day, is sharp."

  23. 50:23

    وَقَالَ قَرِيۡـنُهٗ هٰذَا مَا لَدَىَّ عَتِيۡدٌؕ ۲۳

    And his companion, [the angel], will say, "This [record] is what is with me, prepared."

    اَلۡقِيَا فِىۡ جَهَنَّمَ كُلَّ كَفَّارٍ عَنِيۡدٍۙ ۲۴

    [Allah will say], "Throw into Hell every obstinate disbeliever,

    مَّنَّاعٍ لِّلۡخَيۡرِ مُعۡتَدٍ مُّرِيۡبِۙ ۲۵

    Preventer of good, aggressor, and doubter,

    اۨلَّذِىۡ جَعَلَ مَعَ اللّٰهِ اِلٰهًا اٰخَرَ فَاَ لۡقِيٰهُ فِى الۡعَذَابِ الشَّدِيۡدِ ۲۶

    Who made [as equal] with Allah another deity; then throw him into the severe punishment."

  27. 50:27

    ۞ قَالَ قَرِيۡنُهٗ رَبَّنَا مَاۤ اَطۡغَيۡتُهٗ وَلٰـكِنۡ كَانَ فِىۡ ضَلٰلٍۢ بَعِيۡدٍ ۲۷

    His [devil] companion will say, "Our Lord, I did not make him transgress, but he [himself] was in extreme error."

    قَالَ لَا تَخۡتَصِمُوۡا لَدَىَّ وَقَدۡ قَدَّمۡتُ اِلَيۡكُمۡ بِالۡوَعِيۡدِ ۲۸

    [Allah] will say, "Do not dispute before Me, while I had already presented to you the warning.

    مَا يُبَدَّلُ الۡقَوۡلُ لَدَىَّ وَمَاۤ اَنَا بِظَلَّامٍ لِّلۡعَبِيۡدِ ۲۹

    The word will not be changed with Me, and never will I be unjust to the servants."

    يَوۡمَ نَـقُوۡلُ لِجَهَـنَّمَ هَلِ امۡتَلَـئْتِ وَتَقُوۡلُ هَلۡ مِنۡ مَّزِيۡدٍ ۳۰

    On the Day We will say to Hell, "Have you been filled?" and it will say, "Are there some more,"

  31. 50:31

    وَاُزۡلِفَتِ الۡجَـنَّةُ لِلۡمُتَّقِيۡنَ غَيۡرَ بَعِيۡدٍ ۳۱

    And Paradise will be brought near to the righteous, not far,

    هٰذَا مَا تُوۡعَدُوۡنَ لِكُلِّ اَوَّابٍ حَفِيۡظٍۚ ۳۲

    [It will be said], "This is what you were promised - for every returner [to Allah] and keeper [of His covenant]

    مَنۡ خَشِىَ الرَّحۡمٰنَ بِالۡغَيۡبِ وَجَآءَ بِقَلۡبٍ مُّنِيۡبِۙ ۳۳

    Who feared the Most Merciful unseen and came with a heart returning [in repentance].

    اۨدۡخُلُوۡهَا بِسَلٰمٍؕ ذٰلِكَ يَوۡمُ الۡخُلُوۡدِ ۳۴

    Enter it in peace. This is the Day of Eternity."

  35. 50:35

    لَهُمۡ مَّا يَشَآءُوۡنَ فِيۡهَا وَلَدَيۡنَا مَزِيۡدٌ ۳۵

    They will have whatever they wish therein, and with Us is more.

    وَكَمۡ اَهۡلَـكۡنَا قَبۡلَهُمۡ مِّنۡ قَرۡنٍ هُمۡ اَشَدُّ مِنۡهُمۡ بَطۡشًا فَنَقَّبُوۡا فِى الۡبِلَادِ ؕ هَلۡ مِنۡ مَّحِيۡصٍ ۳۶

    And how many a generation before them did We destroy who were greater than them in [striking] power and had explored throughout the lands. Is there any place of escape?

  37. 50:37

    اِنَّ فِىۡ ذٰلِكَ لَذِكۡرٰى لِمَنۡ كَانَ لَهٗ قَلۡبٌ اَوۡ اَلۡقَى السَّمۡعَ وَهُوَ شَهِيۡدٌ ۳۷

    Indeed in that is a reminder for whoever has a heart or who listens while he is present [in mind].

  38. 50:38

    وَلَقَدۡ خَلَقۡنَا السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضَ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَا فِىۡ سِتَّةِ اَيَّامٍۖ وَّمَا مَسَّنَا مِنۡ لُّغُوۡبٍ ۳۸

    And We did certainly create the heavens and earth and what is between them in six days, and there touched Us no weariness.

  39. 50:39

    فَاصۡبِرۡ عَلٰى مَا يَقُوۡلُوۡنَ وَسَبِّحۡ بِحَمۡدِ رَبِّكَ قَبۡلَ طُلُوۡعِ الشَّمۡسِ وَقَبۡلَ الۡغُرُوۡبِۚ ۳۹

    So be patient, [O Muhammad], over what they say and exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting,

  40. 50:40

    وَمِنَ الَّيۡلِ فَسَبِّحۡهُ وَاَدۡبَارَ السُّجُوۡدِ ۴۰

    And [in part] of the night exalt Him and after prostration.

    وَاسۡتَمِعۡ يَوۡمَ يُنَادِ الۡمُنَادِ مِنۡ مَّكَانٍ قَرِيۡبٍۙ ۴۱

    And listen on the Day when the Caller will call out from a place that is near -

    يَوۡمَ يَسۡمَعُوۡنَ الصَّيۡحَةَ بِالۡحَـقِّ ؕ ذٰ لِكَ يَوۡمُ الۡخُـرُوۡجِ ۴۲

    The Day they will hear the blast [of the Horn] in truth. That is the Day of Emergence [from the graves].

  43. 50:43

    اِنَّا نَحۡنُ نُحۡىٖ وَنُمِيۡتُ وَاِلَيۡنَا الۡمَصِيۡرُۙ ۴۳

    Indeed, it is We who give life and cause death, and to Us is the destination

    يَوۡمَ تَشَقَّقُ الۡاَرۡضُ عَنۡهُمۡ سِرَاعًا ؕ ذٰ لِكَ حَشۡرٌ عَلَيۡنَا يَسِيۡرٌ ۴۴

    On the Day the earth breaks away from them [and they emerge] rapidly; that is a gathering easy for Us.

  45. 50:45

    نَحۡنُ اَعۡلَمُ بِمَا يَقُوۡلُوۡنَ وَمَاۤ اَنۡتَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ بِجَـبَّارٍ فَذَكِّرۡ بِالۡقُرۡاٰنِ مَنۡ يَّخَافُ وَعِيۡدِ ۴۵

    We are most knowing of what they say, and you are not over them a tyrant. But remind by the Qur'an whoever fears My threat.
