Sura Al-Fajr — L'Alba

الفجر

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

89:1

ﱔﱕ وَٱلْفَجْرِ ١

By the dawn

89:2

ﱖﱗﱘ وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍ ٢

And [by] ten nights

Tafsir
89:3

ﱙﱚﱛ وَٱلشَّفْعِ وَٱلْوَتْرِ ٣

And [by] the even [number] and the odd

Tafsir
89:4

ﱜﱝﱞﱟ وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَسْرِ ٤

And [by] the night when it passes,

89:5

ﱠﱡﱢﱣﱤﱥﱦ هَلْ فِى ذَٰلِكَ قَسَمٌ لِّذِى حِجْرٍ ٥

Is there [not] in [all] that an oath [sufficient] for one of perception?

Tafsir
89:6

ﱧﱨﱩﱪﱫﱬﱭ أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِعَادٍ ٦

Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with 'Aad -

89:7

ﱮﱯﱰﱱ إِرَمَ ذَاتِ ٱلْعِمَادِ ٧

[With] Iram - who had lofty pillars,

89:8

ﱲﱳﱴﱵﱶﱷﱸ ٱلَّتِى لَمْ يُخْلَقْ مِثْلُهَا فِى ٱلْبِلَـٰدِ ٨

The likes of whom had never been created in the land?

Tafsir
89:9

ﱹﱺﱻﱼﱽﱾ وَثَمُودَ ٱلَّذِينَ جَابُوا۟ ٱلصَّخْرَ بِٱلْوَادِ ٩

And [with] Thamud, who carved out the rocks in the valley?

Tafsir
89:10

ﱿﲀﲁﲂ وَفِرْعَوْنَ ذِى ٱلْأَوْتَادِ ١٠

And [with] Pharaoh, owner of the stakes? -

Tafsir
89:11

ﲃﲄﲅﲆﲇ ٱلَّذِينَ طَغَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْبِلَـٰدِ ١١

[All of] whom oppressed within the lands

Tafsir
89:12

ﲈﲉﲊﲋ فَأَكْثَرُوا۟ فِيهَا ٱلْفَسَادَ ١٢

And increased therein the corruption.

Tafsir
89:13

ﲌﲍﲎﲏﲐﲑ فَصَبَّ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّكَ سَوْطَ عَذَابٍ ١٣

So your Lord poured upon them a scourge of punishment.

Tafsir
89:14

ﲒﲓﲔﲕ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَبِٱلْمِرْصَادِ ١٤

Indeed, your Lord is in observation.

89:15

ﲖﲗﲘﲙﲚﲛﲜﲝﲞﲟﲠﲡ فَأَمَّا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ إِذَا مَا ٱبْتَلَىٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ فَأَكْرَمَهُۥ وَنَعَّمَهُۥ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّىٓ أَكْرَمَنِ ١٥

And as for man, when his Lord tries him and [thus] is generous to him and favors him, he says, "My Lord has honored me."

89:16

ﲢﲣﲤﲥﲦﲧﲨﲩﲪﲫﲬ وَأَمَّآ إِذَا مَا ٱبْتَلَىٰهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقَهُۥ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّىٓ أَهَـٰنَنِ ١٦

But when He tries him and restricts his provision, he says, "My Lord has humiliated me."

89:17

ﲭﲮﲯﲰﲱﲲﲳ كَلَّا ۖ بَل لَّا تُكْرِمُونَ ٱلْيَتِيمَ ١٧

No! But you do not honor the orphan

Tafsir
89:18

ﲴﲵﲶﲷﲸﲹ وَلَا تَحَـٰٓضُّونَ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلْمِسْكِينِ ١٨

And you do not encourage one another to feed the poor.

89:19

ﲺﲻﲼﲽﲾ وَتَأْكُلُونَ ٱلتُّرَاثَ أَكْلًا لَّمًّا ١٩

And you consume inheritance, devouring [it] altogether,

Tafsir
89:20

ﲿﳀﳁﳂﳃ وَتُحِبُّونَ ٱلْمَالَ حُبًّا جَمًّا ٢٠

And you love wealth with immense love.

89:21

ﳄﳅﳆﳇﳈﳉﳊﳋ كَلَّآ إِذَا دُكَّتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ دَكًّا دَكًّا ٢١

No! When the earth has been leveled - pounded and crushed -

Tafsir
89:22

ﳌﳍﳎﳏﳐﳑ وَجَآءَ رَبُّكَ وَٱلْمَلَكُ صَفًّا صَفًّا ٢٢

And your Lord has come and the angels, rank upon rank,

89:23

ﱁﱂﱃﱄﱅﱆﱇﱈﱉﱊﱋ وَجِا۟ىٓءَ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بِجَهَنَّمَ ۚ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ وَأَنَّىٰ لَهُ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ ٢٣

And brought [within view], that Day, is Hell - that Day, man will remember, but what good to him will be the remembrance?

Tafsir
89:24

ﱌﱍﱎﱏﱐ يَقُولُ يَـٰلَيْتَنِى قَدَّمْتُ لِحَيَاتِى ٢٤

He will say, "Oh, I wish I had sent ahead [some good] for my life."

Tafsir
89:25

ﱑﱒﱓﱔﱕﱖ فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَّا يُعَذِّبُ عَذَابَهُۥٓ أَحَدٌ ٢٥

So on that Day, none will punish [as severely] as His punishment,

Tafsir
89:26

ﱗﱘﱙﱚﱛ وَلَا يُوثِقُ وَثَاقَهُۥٓ أَحَدٌ ٢٦

And none will bind [as severely] as His binding [of the evildoers].

Tafsir
89:27

ﱜﱝﱞﱟ يَـٰٓأَيَّتُهَا ٱلنَّفْسُ ٱلْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ ٢٧

[To the righteous it will be said], "O reassured soul,

Tafsir
89:28

ﱠﱡﱢﱣﱤﱥ ٱرْجِعِىٓ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةً مَّرْضِيَّةً ٢٨

Return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him],

Tafsir
89:29

ﱦﱧﱨﱩ فَٱدْخُلِى فِى عِبَـٰدِى ٢٩

And enter among My [righteous] servants

Tafsir
89:30

ﱪﱫﱬ وَٱدْخُلِى جَنَّتِى ٣٠

And enter My Paradise."
